Admission Conditions
The following may apply for the Master's Degree: a) People who hold a B.A. or equivalent degree; b) People who hold a foreign academic degree awarded after a 1st study cycle organized according to the Bologna Process by a member state of that process; c) People who hold a foreign academic degree acknowledged as a degree satisfying the objectives of the graduate degree by the due body; d) People who have a school, scientific or professional curriculum acknowledged by the due body of ULP certifying the capacity to obtain this study cycle.

Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired
The study cycle aims to promote the following learning / skills: a) Know the legal organization that frames the intervention in the context of juvenile justice (JJ) and protection of children and young people in danger (PCYD). b) To know, reflect, synthesize, integrate, and differentiate explanatory conceptual models of paths of aggression and victimization in childhood and adolescence and recognize their developmental impact. c) To raise awareness of the current challenges of intervention in the contexts of JJ and PCYD, considering the phenomena of diversity, multiculturalism and migration. d) Solve complex problems in terms of evaluation and decision-making in the contexts of PCYD and JJ. e) Plan and implement evidence-based psychosocial intervention programs in the contexts of JJ and PCYD. f) Develop original empirical studies, articulating them with the most appropriate research methodologies. g) Think critically and ethically within the scope of assessment, prevention, intervention, and research activities in this field.

Objectives
The study cycle has the following learning objectives: a) To deepen knowledge at the level of the legal organization that fits the intervention in the context of juvenile justice (JJ) and protection of children and young in danger (PCYD). b) To know the conceptual models that explain the paths of aggression / victimization in childhood / adolescence and to recognize their developmental impact. c) Inform and raise awareness of the current challenges of intervention in this area, considering the phenomena of diversity, multiculturalism, and migration. d) Train practical skills in the selection and application of methodologies and techniques for planning the intervention in the JJ and PCYD systems. e) To develop complex problem-solving skills, namely in terms of assessment and decision making in the contexts of JJ and PCYD. f) Provide skills for the development of social intervention programs, based on evidence for solving psychosocial problems. g) Training for the use of critical thinking, ethical reasoning underlying psychosocial intervention in PCYD and JJ systems and collaborative practices in multidisciplinary teams.

Career Opportunities
The study cycle aims to provide a qualified and specialized professional practice in the field of juvenile justice and the promotion and protection of children and young people in danger. Specifically, it intends to train technicians to perform functions in institutions in the area of promotion and protection (e.g., Child Protection Services, Multidisciplinary Courts Support Teams, Shelters, educational contexts) and Juvenile Justice (e.g., Educational Centers).

Under the terms of point (a), of the article 30 of Decree-Law no. 74/2006, of 24 March, in its current wording, the conclusion of this Study Cycle allows the application for a PhD Study Cycle.

Infrastructure and Equipment
The University offers a variety of resources to support learning, from physical resources (classrooms with multimedia equipment, library, ICT resources, pedagogical and scientific equipment), to aspects related to safety and the environment, and specific needs for students with disabilities. The University also has tutoring, supervision, and psychological counseling support, promoting the respective publicity among students.
