Resume

- Catarina Jota Baptista (CJB) completed her Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2019 in ULisboa with a final score of 16 (0-20). After that, she did a post-graduation in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation (U. of Leeds) in 2021 and a Wildlife Population Health speciality internship in U. Autonoma de Barcelona. Her final year traineeship was developed in Budapest Zoo and Botanical Graden and Hortobágy National Park, and it was classified with 20 (0-20). Her master thesis received a final score of 19 (0-20). CJB has one year of experience in small animal medicine and surgery. - CJB is currently a funded phD student (FCT) in UTAD and had been invited since 2019 to perform a lecture in Wildlife and Conservation Medicine Optional subject in Veterinary Medicine in ULisboa. - CJB won the Rudolf Ippen Young Scientist Award in 2022, an award for young veterinarians who present great curriculums in wildlife medicine (clinical, or research) - CJB has a total of 12 publications, most of them directly related to wildlife conservation medicine and One Health, but also related to Pharmacology and Comparative Medicine. She has been collaborating as a reviewer and editor with indexed journals and conferences. She received 2 scientific grants to attend international conferences. - CJB was invited as a member of the European Hedgehog Research Group. Moreover, she is author of the book "Wildlife Research for a Healthier future"; co-author of a book chapter of Encyclopedia of Toxicology, 4th Edition, Elsevier (that is planned to be published in 2023). - CJB is currently an Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias (2022/2023), teaching Clinical Medicine and Wildlife/Exotic Clinical Medicine - CJB is fluent and has an official certification in English (C1) and Spanish (B2).
