Resume
Since 2021, I have been an Assistant Professor at the School of Psychology and Life Sciences at Universidade Lusófona. As a lecturer, I am responsible for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in both the life sciences and psychology departments. My primary research interest lies in using interdisciplinary data to explore the evolution and adaptation of wildlife in environments modified by human activities, with a focus on non-human primates. In my research, I aim at understanding the interactions between humans and wildlife to address the conservation challenges in these human-influenced environments by integrating data from different disciplines. Currently I am studying the dynamics and impact of introduced guenons in the African islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the effects of feral cat populations on biodiversity and human communities in Portugal and insular habitats. I am also interested in studying the evolution and flexibility of primate sexual behavior and its relation to human evolution. Outside academia I am involved in contemporary art and on working with artists in the connections between art and science.
