Resume

Manas Sutradhar, Ph. D. (2008) in Inorganic Chemistry, University of Calcutta, India. During 2009-2011, MS was a Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) Post-doctoral research at the Institut für Anorganische Chemie und Analytische Chemie, Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany. In 2011, MS joined as Post-doctoral research associate at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal. He received a Post-Doc grants from Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) Portugal. Currently, MS is an Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona, Lisbon, Portugal. During his research career MS published 74 papers in international peer review journals (including 3 Reviews + 1 Reference Module) with more than 2350 citations with h-index 29 (ISI Web of knowledge). He is the first author in > 50 papers including corresponding author in 40 papers. In addition, he has 11 book chapters in books with international circulation and one patent. He edited two books “Vanadium Catalysis” from RSC and “Catalysis for a Sustainable Environment” from Wiley International. He is the associate editor of Frontiers of Chemical Biology (Bioinorganic Chemistry section) and served as guest editor for several special issues in Catalysts and in Frontiers in Chemistry. The major contribution of his research work is in the areas of Metal-coordinated chemistry of vanadium complexes and their applications in oxidation catalysis and biological activities (antidiabetic, anticancer properties etc). His research interest also includes synthesis of polynuclear complexes with interesting magnetic properties, removal of volatile organic compounds and bioactive natural products. He jointly supervised with the group leader 1 postdoc, 1 Ph.D., 2 Master and more than 12 ERUSMUS students. He participated in four research projects (Project No. PEst-OE/QUI/UI0100/2013 (BL/CQE-2014-023, PTDC/QUI-QUI/102150/2008, PTDC/QUI-QUI/119561/2010-BL/CQE-2013-009 and PTDC/QEQ-QIN/3967/2014), funded by FCT, Portugal. He is also active as a reviewer for various international scientific journals, e.g. Dalton Transactions, RSC advances, New Journal of Chemistry, Applied Organometallic Chemistry Polyhedron, Inorganica Chimica Acta, Journal of Coordination Chemistry, Catalysis Communications, Catalysts, Molecules etc. He was organizing members for five international conferences (ICOMC 2012, 7th EuCheMS N-Ligand 2018, 1st ICNCI 2019, XXII ISHC 2022 and V13 Symposium 2023). He received Young Scientist Award 2006 from Indian Chemical Society, India, and Sir P. C. Ray Research Award 2006 from the University of Calcutta, India.
