Syllabus
Students will develop a degree project in the area of Biotechnology under the guidance of a teacher / researcher. The work to be developed should be as interdisciplinary as possible, and can also count on the collaboration of a company or a laboratory.

Development of the student's initiative, autonomy and communication skills under the guidance of a teacher / researcher, in an appropriate institutional framework in the scientific areas involved in the project Upon completion of the Project, the student should be able to: -Apply knowledge and skills acquired during the study cycle within the chosen theme; -Perform literature research, compile and process data and make its interpretation, critically evaluate the scientific literature and draw conclusions based on it; - Clearly define the scientific problem to be addressed, establish an appropriate study plan and choose the appropriate methodology for its implementation; -Present and discuss the work done orally and in writing before an audience

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
Students are accompanied by one or more teachers/researchers during the development of the project. Internship: additional supervision by a supervisor at the host organization. Students will develop their own project based on their research. Tutorial support. Students are encouraged to: apply knowledge acquired in various UCs to develop meaningful solutions, promoting collaborative learning; study content made available on various platforms for subsequent discussion with the supervisor(s). The project is individual or in a group of no more than 2 students The project must be submitted in the form of a written report. After the report has been submitted, the project will be presented (20 minutes) and discussed (40 minutes) in front of a jury of at least two teachers/researchers. Pass with a mark of 9.5 or higher

Assessment
Classificação final: média aritmética do relatório escrito (40 %), da apresentação (10%) e discussão do projecto (40%), e o desempenho individual ao longo do projecto (10%).
O relatório escrito terá de ser entregue até 7 de Junho de 2025
As apresentações e discussões terão de decorrer entre 8 de Junho de 2026 e 4 de Julho de 2026, preferencialmente entre 8 de Junho de 2026 e 19 de Junho de 2026
Aprovação com nota igual ou superior a 9,5 valores
A classificação é feita na base de uma escala de zero a vinte.
