International Students

Brazilian students who want to be students at Lusófona University in an undergraduate course can submit their application through the Contest for International Students.

The Contest for International Students applies to students who are not residents of the European Union and who do not yet have a university degree and who intend to attend an Undergraduate or Integrated Masters Course.

International students may apply for registration and enrollment in the study cycles at Universidade Lusófona de Lisboa:
  1. Holders of a qualification that gives access to higher education, understood as any diploma or certificate issued by a competent authority that attests to the approval of a teaching program and gives them the right to apply and be able to enter higher education in the country where it was checked;

  2. Holders of a Portuguese secondary education diploma or legally equivalent qualification.

There are two ways to join the International Student Regime:
  1. Using the ENEM or

  2. Through an Internal Admission Test, held at our University , intended for non-Portuguese students who have not taken an Admission Test to Portuguese Higher Education.

The following are not covered by the international student definition:
  1. Nationals of a Member State of the European Union;

  2. Family members of Portuguese or nationals of a Member State of the European Union, regardless of their nationality;

  3. Those who are not nationals of a Member State of the European Union and not covered by the previous paragraph, have legally resided in Portugal for more than two years, uninterruptedly, on January 1 of the year in which they intend to enter in higher education, as well as the children legally residing with them;

  4. Those who are beneficiaries, on January 1 of the year in which they intend to enter higher education, of the status of equal rights and duties attributed under an international treaty granted between the Portuguese State and the State of which they are national;

  5. Those who require admission to higher education through the special access and admission regimes regulated by Decree-Law No. 393-A/99, of October 2nd, amended by Decree-Law No. 272 /2009, October 1.

Family members of Portuguese or nationals of a member state of the European Union, regardless of their nationality:
  1. The spouse of a Union citizen;

  2. The partner with whom a Union citizen lives in a de facto union, constituted under the terms of the law, or with whom the Union citizen maintains a permanent relationship duly certified by the competent entity of the Member State where he/she resides;< /p>

  3. The direct descendant under the age of 21 or who is dependentof a citizen of the Union, as well as that of the spouse or partner within the meaning of the previous subparagraph;

  4. The dependent direct ascendant of a Union citizen, as well as that of the spouse or partner as defined in subparagraph ii).
