Resume

Maria Manso has been an assistant professor at the Faculty of Engineering of Universidade Lusófona - Centro Universitário de Lisboa since 2022. She graduated in Architecture in 2004 at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa. Since 2005 worked as an Architect and cooperated with studios from Portugal and the United Kingdom. In 2011 started working as a research fellow at C-MADE and worked also as a teaching assistant of Materials for the Master of Architecture, University of Beira Interior. In 2019 completed her PhD in Civil Engineering at University of Beira Interior and started working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Instituto Superior Tecnico, University of Lisbon. Her current research focuses on nature-based solutions, more specifically in the benefits of green roofs and green walls. Her domain activities are sustainable construction and greening systems design. She was involved in the creation of 3 patented systems and won 2 national and 2 international prizes for the design of a modular system for green walls and green roofs.
