Paulo Ferreira holds a degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences. He is an assistant researcher at CICANT and a lecturer in the Department of Media and Communication at Universidade Lusófona. His research and professional work focus on the digital transformation of higher education, Human–Computer Interaction and the use of Generative AI in academic and institutional contexts. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the School of Digital Technologies at Tallinn University, where his research explores the relationship between people, emerging technologies and digitally mediated experiences. Tallinn University’s doctoral programme in Information Society Technologies includes research areas connected with interaction design, digital learning and human-centred computing. At Universidade Lusófona, he leads and coordinates innovation, digital learning and IT-related initiatives, working with multidisciplinary teams on the development and implementation of technology-enabled solutions. His work combines project management, institutional innovation, team coordination and the practical application of emerging technologies. He has participated in several Portuguese and European research and innovation projects and is responsible for the implementation of the DC4EU project at Universidade Lusófona, with a particular focus on digital identity, digital wallets, verifiable credentials and interoperability in higher education.
