Resume

Sara Vaz is a lecturer in the Fashion Design and Production programme at Universidade Lusófona, Lisbon. She completed her PhD in Media Arts and Communication in 2025 at Universidade Lusófona, where her doctoral research examined the role of performance in contemporary fashion shows and its impact on audience engagement and experience. Her research interests lie at the intersection of fashion, performance studies and media arts, with a particular focus on the ways in which technological innovation, three-dimensional design, digital media and immersive environments influence contemporary fashion practices. Through an interdisciplinary approach, she explores the convergence of artistic, technological and communicational dimensions within fashion, contributing to the development of new perspectives on fashion presentation and audience interaction. Sara holds a Bachelor's degree in Fashion and Textile Design from ESART - Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas and a Master's degree in Clothing and Textile Design, completed in 2021. Throughout her academic and professional trajectory, she has collaborated with fashion industry stakeholders through internships and applied projects, fostering connections between fashion practice, education and research. Her work is grounded in the integration of creative methodologies with scientific inquiry, particularly within the fields of fashion studies, performance, cultural production and digital media. She is committed to advancing interdisciplinary research and developing innovative forms of artistic expression that bridge fashion, technology and education.
