Resume

O Tiago Granja graduou-se em Engenharia Biotecnológica na Universidade Lusófona ¿ Lisboa ¿ Portugal e concluiu o mestrado em Biologia Celular e Molecular na Universidade de Coimbra ¿ Coimbra ¿ Portugal de onde se mudou para Bristol ¿ UK para iniciar o seu doutoramento no laboratório MICF ¿ Myocardial Inflammation and Cellular Function no Bristol Royal Infirmary ¿ Bristol ¿ UK. Juntamente com o professor Zackarowski contribuiu para o desenvolvimento de novas funções do recetor de imunidade inata TLR4 e sua sincronização com o eixo hipófise ¿ glândula pituitária ¿ glândulas adrenais e a homeostase cardíaca. Terminou o seu doutoramento em medicina translacional dentro do consorcio da Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main ¿ Alemanha e Tübingen Universtät Klinikum ¿ Alemanha onde foi responsável pela implementação de novos modelos de microcirurgia animal de inflamação crónica e aguda. Juntamente com o professor Rosenberger em Tübingen concentrou-se na importância da sinapse neuro-imune nos processos inflamatórios em órgãos de choque. Desde então tem-se dedicado ao papel das proteínas neuronais guia na imunidade inata, na função plaquetária, no recrutamento de monócitos, na diferenciação de macrófagos e na sinalização da patofisiologia de ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) ou IRI (Ischemia/reperfusion Injury). Em 2021 o Tiago Granja integrou o CBIOS (center of Biological Sciences da Universidade Lusófona) onde abraçou a iniciativa de iniciar uma nova carreira na área da imunologia e patofisiologia da microcirculação. Juntamente com o Professor Luís Monteiro Rodrigues explora os limites da Tomografia optoacústica e a sua capacidade em gerar informação 4D de manobras clássicas da fisiologia. Na vanguarda desta tecnologia, no futuro planeia usar a optoacustica como janela de observação da perfusão microvascular, prevenir e diagnosticar alterações cardiovasculares de forma não-invasiva.
