    Future developments in Air Transport (harmonisation efforts and the "Single European Sky")

    Objectives

    Understand the economic and environmental issues facing airlines; The implications of airline strategies for airports, with particular reference to changing patterns of passenger demand and airline operations; Review the key components of the air transport system, explain their essential characteristics and illustrate the challenges they face; Understand the principles of fleet planning; Analyse the performance and economics of different aircraft types, and, their implications for route development.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Also include innovative methodologies to support the teaching-learning process used, adoption of digital pedagogical resources (viewing case studies, pedagogical gaming strategies in the classroom that enhance the acquisition and development of skills/learning)
