    Ancient legends and myths and the desire to fly.
    Leonardo da Vinci - projects for flying machines in the 15th century
    Balloons and airships (late 18th to 19th century) 
    The Wright brothers and powered flight (early 20th century):
    The First World War and advances in aviation
    Golden Age of Aviation (1920s-1930s)
    Commercial aviation and the creation of airlines
    The jet age and supersonic flight (after the Second World War):
    Space race and astronautics 
    The development of more fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly aircraft.
    The introduction of large, long-range aircraft.
    The emergence of commercial space travel and private space exploration companies.
    Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones

    The learning objectives include:

    LO 1. Understanding Historical development: understanding the evolution of aviation from its beginnings to contemporary development;
