Syllabus
The Circular Economy and the Life Cycle Approach. Its importance to eco-design. Interrelationship between Natural Systems and Economic Systems. Natural Systems and Industrial Process: Upstream and Downstream. "Close-the-Loop":the phases of the Life Cycle. Eco-efficiency and its tools. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as an Environmental Tool in an environmental management system context. What it is, and what a LCA is for: definition, structure and direct applications. categories of environmental impact and scientific notation. Examples and practical cases. Environmental Labelling Type I, Type Ii and Type III: their differences and applications. The Environmental Product Declaration (DAP) as a Type III Label. The importance of Environmental Labels for screening "Green Washing" Examples of DAPs and certifying entities. Exercises. The new generation of eco-labeling: PEF - Product Environmental Footprint and OEF- Organization Environmental Footprint.

Internalize the fundamental principles of the Life Cycle Approach and Life Cycle Assessment
Understand the relationship between Life Cycle and Environmental Impacts throughout all phases.
Understand the LCA methodology and the Ecological Labeling based on it as a basis for selecting a more sustainable product.
Training in the sense of knowing how to minimally interpret an LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) and a DAP (Environmental Product Declaration)
