    promotes the introduction to the discovery of knowledge in databases in support and better decision
    making. Therefore, the DSS have a structuring importance in the study cycle for the understanding of
    support systems in decision-making and Knowledge Management.

    2. Characteristics, structure and functioning of SAD.
    3. SAD's in the decision-making process.
    4. Business Intelligence (BI) Technology. Introduction to the Power BI application.
    5. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Characteristics, attributes and functional scope in the integrated management of resources and optimization of decision making.

    LO1: Understand the fundamental concepts and characteristics of Decision Support Systems (DSS) to
    support decision making;
    LO2: Understand the characteristics, structure and functioning of the DSS in the discovery of knowledge
    in databases;
    LO3: Knowing the characteristics of some tools available to support better decision making;
    LO4: Understand the characteristics and operation of the business intelligence technology made
    available free of charge by Microsoft, Power BI Desktop;
    LO5: Understand the importance of the ERP Management Software package in the effective and efficient
    management of an organization's resources and its connection with the DSS.

  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Classes are theoretical-practical. In the theoretical parts, the fundamental concepts, characteristics,
    structuring and functioning of the Decision Support System are presented in the discovery of knowledge
    in databases and in supporting decision making. In the practical parts, the presentation and discussion of
    case studies and scientific articles that illustrate and reinforce the taught material are promoted, as well
    as the group work that will be presented and discussed later.

    The evaluation of students is carried out in accordance with the university's evaluation regulations. The Group work, in PPT, constitutes 90% of the final grade (50% for the presentation and 40% for the discussion) and attendance 10%.
