Class Sociedade e Cultura Política

This Curricular Unit (UC) operates within two fundamental concepts: society and political culture. It places them in a specific regional area - Europe and more specifically the European Union - and dialogues with the whole course insofar as it deepens these two essential concepts of the social sciences and, particularly, of political science, analyzing how they can be read in the light of the creation of a concrete society and political culture - the European one. • Europe: a macro view of a continent under construction
• The Idea of Europe as a society and political culture 
• Authoritarianism and political culture
• Society and political community of the European Union (common roots and shared values)
• A prospective outlook at the political, cultural, and social dimensions of the EU

Debates, simulations and written exercises in class will be a driving force behind the methodologies supporting the teaching-learning process. Thematic seminars with other specialist and professors will bring students closer to the tasks they will have to perform in their current and future professions.
