    Presentation

The main objective of UC is to provide students with visual literacy through knowledge, understanding and technological expression in the field of graphic design. The curriculum introduces elements of language and image, technical aspects of production and working methodologies in the creation of visual information and digital animations (motiongraphics), aiming to convey a message through image and an animated sequence.

At the same time, it is intended to transmit knowledge related to graphic design, animation and video composition techniques. Transversely linked factors in the world of visual communication, more specifically in the dissemination of an idea or message through infographics and the production of an animated infographics.

  • Objectives

    Objectives

The UC aims to provide students with the technical and conceptual essential principles to a visual communication design, including the adaptation of news to visual information and digital animation format. The main strands of study focus on typographic elements, vector shapes, relationships between symbols and meanings, time and movement, principles of composition, animation and visual effects applied to the motion graphics context, with a view to transmitting a message through visual communication.

These principles aim to serve two main objectives: a coherent and balanced project presentation and an understanding of the processes developed in the field of visual communication that allow a correct dialogue with the professionals of the area.

  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    • Learning based on practical exercises carried out in class.
    • Solidification of learning through the elaboration of practical projects, in order to encourage students to work on projects that can be found in the real world.
    • Critical analysis of existing projects for the consolidation and application of graphic design and motion graphics principles.
    • Formation of working groups, in order to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing, inter-help, development of social skills and consolidation of the acquisition of knowledge.
    • Promotion of creativity through the monitoring and guidance of the project in its different phases.
    • Possible interdisciplinarity, with the Curricular Unit Journalistic Redaction.
