This CU aims to: Provide students with communicational tools to enable them to express themselves efficiently, courteously and professionally in English, on topics and situations involving the world of work and organizations, in general. Develop vocabulary and fluency in English, in particular contexts of the professional life involving speaking on the phone (common situations). Empower students to exchange points of view and opinions in English on topics of their area of training.

Syllabus
1. Company structures Hierarchy, departments, positions, responsibilities Working conditions. Skills and qualifications. The recruitment process. Problems and challenges at work. 2. Speaking on the phone Phone messages, attempting a connection, getting through, leaving a message, wrong number, scheduling a meeting and changing the date/time. Professional language. Politeness and nuance in English.

Objectives
The main skills to acquire are: - The ability to communicate fluently, clearly and adequately in English, in situations related to the professional context, work and organizations; - The ability to speak and write on the elements of the structure of a company, different departments, respective responsibilities and tasks, with a special emphasis on journalism; - The ability to discuss working conditions and problems at work; - The ability to speak on the phone in English, in a clear and well-structured manner, using vocabulary and language strategies that are suited to the situations and problems encountered; - The ability to understand nuance and politenesse formulas in English and be able to use them appropriately; - The ability to apply acquired knowledge to the discussion of points of view and situations.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
Interactive lectures - short moments of presentation (to introduce or summarise) associated with audiovisual resources and demonstrations (real or simulations, and audio and video recordings), individual and small group activities, debates, case studies for discussion, role-play activities for practice and consolidation. This methodology will stimulate students to think, debate ideas, create solutions collaboratively and develop deep learning. Continual use of communicative activities to the detriment of formal lectures by the teacher, students do research and share information on the topics, individually and in group. Topics are given interdisciplinary approach, flipped classroom methodology, feedforward process to develop learning.
