    Presentation

The Curricular Unity Photography I intends to introduce the students to the use of photographic tools for the production of design objects, for which students are introduced to the black and white analog laboratory environment in order to be able to produce an alphabet in photograms, students are also lectured in the use ofdigital camera and digital image editing tools (Photoshop and Lightroom). The ultimate goal is the construction of an alphabet in photographic image and the use of that alphabet for writing a short text.

  • Objectives

    Objectives

Provide an introductory knowledge to the operation of the SLR camera.
Introduce students to the black and white photo lab.
Ability to operate an SLR camera I understand the exposure and composition variables and the influence they have on the expression of the photographic object and its reception.
Ability to use the photo magnifier as an instrument for direct printing on paper.
Understanding the procedural functioning of black and white photography.
Development of the typographic creation experience by changing the raw material and creation process, creating a deeper and more diverse understanding of the individual characteristics of each character.
Develop skills to understand Negative / Positive impression logic.
Found a diverse understanding in the construction of fonts, focused on the manual construction of each letter, both in digital and analog environments.
  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

The CU is characterized by the intersection between techniques, equipment, software from the field of analogue and digital photography and typographic creation, in bold, creative and innovative practices in the ways in which the digital and analogue laboratory is used for the production of types.
