The course is organised into four modules: I- The construction and crisis of the Liberal Monarchy; II- The construction and crisis of the First Republic; III- The construction and crisis of the New State; IV- The construction and consolidation of Democracy.

The work sessions will be both theoretical and practical. In the dynamics of the sessions, students will actively participate by reading some pre-defined and distributed texts, especially journalistic texts. The objective of these readings, discussed in class, lies in the need to use the contexts of each document as a laboratory tool for understanding the changes, scope, and implications of each one. The evaluation, in addition to a written exam, will involve participation in debates centered on these texts, as well as the writing of an individual essay based on one of the aforementioned texts.
