Resume

Raquel Freire Pereira de Ornelas e Vasconcelos completed her Doutoramento in Biologia in 2011 from Universidade de Lisboa Faculdade de Ciências. She earned her Mestrado in Biologia e Gestão de Recursos Marinhos in 2006 and Licenciatura in Biology in 2004. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher at Centro de Ciências do Mar e do Ambiente in Lisbon, Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona, and Associate Professor at the University of Saint Joseph (Macau), Raquel has contributed significantly to her field. With 23 articles in journals and 4 sections in books, she has also supervised numerous theses and dissertations. Her research focuses on exploring areas such as animal communication, hearing, behavioral physiology, ecoacoustics, and noise pollution. Throughout her career, Raquel has received several international grant projects and supervised multiple candidates from undergraduates, master and PhD students to postdoctoral researchers.
