TransferSIMS: SIMS Technology Transfer

TransferSIMS: SIMS Technology Transfer

TransferSIMS: SIMS Technology Transfer

Project Context and Objectives

Although the metallurgy and metalworking sectors are among the largest contributors to Portuguese exports and national GDP, their productivity level is 42% below the average recorded in the Eurozone.

This project aims to contribute to increasing productivity in the sector through the promotion of the predictive SIMS technology (Smart Industry Monitoring System), which adds a monitoring sensor to industrial equipment. This enables real-time data collection, leading to manufacturing process optimisation, waste reduction, and early detection of operational failures.

The project will assess the impact of adopting this technology, organise a set of dissemination activities to promote its uptake, carry out several pilot projects to validate the benefits of adoption, and develop a set of guidelines for its implementation, taking into account the national context.
