    Syllabus

    1. Physical quantities, dimensions and systems of units.
    2. Reference, position and trajectory. One-dimensional movement.
    3. Movement in space. Projectiles and circular motion.
    4. Newton's Laws. Types of forces, gravitational force.
    5. Applications of Newton's Laws: inclined plane, rings, oscillating spring, pendulum.
    6. Work. Conservative forces and potential energy.
    7. Conservation of mechanical energy.
    8. Center of mass, impulse and linear momentum. Collisions.
    9. Moment of a force, moment of inertia and angular momentum.
    10. Coulomb's law, electric field.
    11. Electric potential and capacitors.
    12. Electric current and electrical resistance.
    13. Electrical circuits. Kirchhoff's laws.

    Objectives

    Understanding of the motion of bodies, i.e. kinematics. Understanding the forces that act on bodies and solving the equations of motion, i.e dynamics. Understanding work and energy. Understanding electric field and the electric potential, i.e. electrostatics. Understanding electric currents and solving circuits with direct electric currents.
