Elements of a building - Materials and construction systems. Types of roof (sloping, landscaped, flat - accessible or not accessible). Foundations, walls, floors and roof Understanding and articulating structure, space and form. Main, Secondary Structure and Construction Systems - understanding the components of a project and work, as a set of coherent and interconnected system of disciplines with hierarchy and complementary functions. Acquisition and sedimentation of technical lexicon and construction culture.

Constructive Systems - materials in the construction: Brick; Stone; Concrete; Wood; Plasters, etc. Construction: Scheduling and understanding of the different phases of the work; Humidity, Sun, Temperature in wall and roof systems; Light structure walls. Ventilated walls and ETICs. Dimensions of walls in thickness. Façades: Independent, ventilated and glazing facades Skins on buildings. Detailing of materials for interiors and exteriors; scales and dimensions of the various details. Structural Systems - Introduction to mechanics: concepts and principles; Particle statics; Rigid bodies: equivalent systems of forces; Equilibrium of rigid bodies (free body diagram, types of supports and connections, equilibrium equations); Truss Analysis (node method and section method)

Objectives
Objectives
Constructive systems Students will have sufficient knowledge of the various materials to start conducting their studies and design concepts and have a sense of what they should use where they are used and how they are used and to understand what architecture is. They will know the combination of basic legislation with creativity and that architecture is not just design and form, but a set of disciplines, means and also rules for successfully completing a program. The advantage of the outline and the intermediate phases before the final project and the representation of the construction details and its coherence with the Architectural object, as well as the importance of the expressiveness and communication of the execution project Structural Systems - Introduction to actions, reations and statics of structures. Determinate structures are analyzed using basic equilibrium equations.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Constructive Systems - Theoretical and practical aspects lectured with the supervision of the Professor. Theoretical explanation and execution of regular works diversifying the perception of Architecture through drawing with manual representation for the development of creativity, technical knowledge and scale. Comparison of building elements to scale and full size - representation and comparison of the general with the particular. Graphic representation of the parts of a Project and construction elements carried out in two different moments Structural Systems - The teaching methodology is based on theoretical and practical exercises related to real structures, inorder to motivate students and facilitate their understanding of basic structural concepts
