Class Landscape and Territorial Architecture

  • Presentation

    Presentation

The UC is governed by contents related to the architect's activity in relation to all issues associated with the landscape — urban or rural — that is, related to the territory. It addresses content, critical thinking and practices that allow us to think, analyze and act on the landscape and territory from the perspective of architectural intervention.

  • Objectives

    Objectives

Develop the ability to relate architecture to landscape construction, aiming at collaborative and interdisciplinary work. Consolidate a broad education, capable of strengthening a critical reading of the habitat and environment in which we live, from the built landscape to the natural landscape. The specific objective of the UC is to lead the student to create his/her own reflection on different issues and contexts associated with the large scale and the landscape, through a project-based methodology of analysis and critical reflection that results in specific proposals for demonstrating basic and methodological knowledge of a project associated with the construction of sustainable landscapes: landscapes that respond to the current problems of globalization and the climate and ecological crisis without forgetting their socio-spatial consequences.
  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

The teaching methodology is based on the combination of theoretical-practical classes of transmission, criticism and framing of the programmatic contents with a view to acquiring theoretical and methodological-project knowledge that informs a conscious practice of intervention on territory. Presentation of theoretical research papers: group work. Field trips and documentary viewing with critical reporting. Practical classes to support the implementation of an intervention exercise on a specific territory — Marvila — aiming at the application of interdisciplinary knowledge explored throughout the semester.
