Objectives
Objectives
New theoretical and practical knowledge is learned using a hands on clinical approach, focused on current problems in Equine medicine and surgery and by putting evidence-based medicine into practice. At the end of the semester, the student must be able to recognize and address a clinical problem using the theoretical concepts learned and practical skills acquired. The student must identify possible risk factors, establish a list of differential diagnoses, select and put into practice the different ancillary diagnostic methods and know how to interpret the results obtained in order to infer about a diagnosis. Additionally, students should be able to prescribe a therapeutic plan, taking into account the cost/benefits of the treatment, implement prophylactic measures and know how to emit a prognosis, taking into account the animal's function. Students are also encouraged to improve their communication skills and their ability to work as a team.

The use of simulators and life-size models allows students to practice procedures safely and gain confidence. The use of active learning methodologies such as clinical case solving, gamification and jigsaw methodology allow students to stay focused and actively interact during the teaching of the CU contents.
