Class Project Seminar

This curricular unit aims to develop scientific research and culture in the area of information technology and computer science. Students take an active part in the application of elementary concepts of the scientific research process, applying them to the preparation of their dissertation proposal.

Although there are some traditional classes in this UC, in most sessions the teacher will take a less active role - in particular, in journal club sessions or discussions after the seminars the teacher will preferably take on a moderating role in the discussion, encouraging student participation but not imposing your vision. The presentation by students of their dissertation proposal will be the main exponent of this approach.
It appears that similar models, including "flipped classroom" moments, increase student participation and knowledge retention.
