Objectives
Objectives
Acquisition of competencies regarding the foundations underlying special and innovative treatments in reproductive techniques. In the context of assisted reproduction treatments in serodiscordant couples and microbiology in assisted reproduction, students will acquire knowledge of the types of tests to be performed before treatment and the procedures to be followed according to the results obtained. Regarding immunological techniques, students should acquire, throughout this curricular unit, basic knowledge of immunology and understand how it affects the reproductive system during implantation and pregnancy. On the other hand, there are new omics technologies (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics) used to assess infertility, improve embryo selection, or assess uterine receptivity. Students should understand what these techniques involve and their applicability. Other innovative topics in the field will also be addressed.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
Presentation of illustrative slides on the topic under study. Interactive presentation of the topics, with an emphasis on discussion of the content in order to promote the integration of concepts. Seminar: students will present and discuss recent scientific articles related to the topics of the central blocks, through critical analysis of the articles and structured debate. The analysis and discussion of the articles will be complemented by exercises and application questions, with the aim of promoting the critical interpretation of scientific information and the integration of the concepts addressed. Researchers and invited speakers, specialists in key topics of some of the learning blocks, may also participate.
