A picture is worth a thousand words! Don't forget that Cinema, Video, Documentary is a moving image. The image is light. Photography is writing with light. This same light, which is a phenomenon that has intrigued scientists for a long time, and even today there is no consensus on its true nature. The Greeks themselves had already inquired about it, reaching two conclusions, sometimes conflicting, that divided the opinions of scholars. In this chair, without forgetting the technical side, the practical side, the side of realization and creation of an environment of luminosity, we will delve into the properties and characteristics of light, and discover why react in a technical way - understand the reason for this choice. of options. Justify why the technique is at our service in this way. We will then enumerate some characteristics of light, discovered over these millennia of studies on its nature.

Syllabus
Syllabus
Throughout the semester there will be purely technical weekly/fortnightly exercises focusing mainly on image/photography/framing. The syllabus of this course aims to create an awareness in the student that, regardless of the means available, there are always different ways to create an artificial ambience in a multimedia project. Make it known that the “artistic” aspect of an audiovisual project has to be conceived as soon as an idea comes up and that, step by step, photography has to be studied until obtaining the desired result. Scenography: Point lighting (together with the defined frame) will surgically illuminate what is intended to be shown to the spectator. Working together with students, the need to take options that maintain the integrity of the work for something beyond a mere painting, in order to contribute to working the art that makes cinema distinguish itself from any other audiovisual work.
