This course aims to present a set of topics that highlight the relevance of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE) as an element of competitiveness for Society and Organisations; present general issues regarding IE as management practices, development drivers and sources of value creation; characterise the IE process; highlight the nature of the environment in which the firm operates and its consequences for business success, particularly in relation to the exploitation of opportunity and innovative ideas; sensitize students to the entrepreneurial activity, as a factor of creation and adding value; discuss the application of the fundamentals of IE to management; and work in groups in the research, analysis and discussion of articles, indexed to Web of Science or SCOPUS. All these contents are oriented to real-world application, which is reflected in the syllabus and in the teaching and assessment methodologies.

Objectives
Realize the relationship between innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable development of organizations and economies; Conceptualize and articulate concepts that enable the understanding of the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship as sources of competitive advantage for organizations and economies; Approach and discuss theories, models and practices related to innovation, change and (intra) entrepreneurship in organisations and economies; Critically analyse the scientific literature on innovation and entrepreneurship.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Classes include, besides the expositive component, a discussion component based on real cases and interactive activities, which aim to develop students' autonomy and critical and holistic view regarding the strategic management process.
