Syllabus
Theoretical framework of the sport, history, rules, terminology, symbolism, school and federative context; Methodology for teaching handball: Characterization of handball as a team sport; Principles of teaching individual technique/tactics, group tactics and collective tactics; Construction and implementation of exercises, lesson plans and teaching units; Individual offensive and defensive technique/tactics; Offensive and defensive group tactics; Collective tactics; Fundamental tactical structure of the different forms of play: Pre-sports games; Reduced and adapted games; Formal game; Beach handball.

Objectives
Objectives
Acquire knowledge about the development of the sport and basic rules; Acquire, from the motor point of view, the technical/tactical skills that enhance teaching ability; Apply appropriately the technical/tactical elements acquired in a criterion exercise, reduced game or formal game; Understand the principles governing the teaching/learning of handball as a team sport; Plan and apply lessons/training according to the context; Identify the different technical/tactical elements of the sport, the main mistakes made and how to correct them; Reflect on their performance, identify strengths, weaknesses and pedagogical alternatives; Demonstrate a permanent willingness to learn through individual and group work; Comply with the class rules (attendance, participation, punctuality, safety rules and respect for others)

Teaching methodologies
Different teaching methodologies will be used: Demonstration, experimentation and practical exercise; Pedagogical practices in a simulated situation of planning, organization and intervention within the scope of teaching/learning; Resolution of practical cases; Small group activities; Feedback information provided by the teacher about the work carried out.

Assessment
Assessment
A avaliação é contínua e é levada a cabo nos termos do Regulamento Geral de Avaliação da Universidade Lusófona do Porto. Diferentes instrumentos de avaliação serão utilizados: Provas escritas; Provas práticas; Assiduidade e Participação.
A avaliação de carácter prático representa 70% da classificação final:
- Assiduidade e participação nas atividades das aulas 10%;
- Trabalho de grupo (planificação, implementação e reflexão) 40%;
- Prova prática 20%.
A avaliação teórica representa 30% da classificação final e será realizada através de um teste escrito.
Para aprovação na unidade curricular a classificação apurada em cada uma das componentes tem de ser superior a nove valores e meio.
