Presentation
General principles of law aims at raising the students' awareness as to the meaning and scope of the law. Law is a specific civilisational mechanism of solving the problems of the person within the context of society on the one hand, as well as the issues concerning the interpretation of legal rules on the other hand. While the students are not being trained to become jurists, they will eventually be interpreters of legal rules and even, in some situations, be involved in adjudication. As such, the students need to be induced in the kind of thinking that jurists as such employ in adjudication.
