The scope of this curriculum unit is related to observation, Social Work, and knowledge. Throughout it, students will have the opportunity to observe the practices of Social Workers and, through observation, to learn about and reflect on these practices. The activities developed in this curriculum unit contribute to the construction and socialization of generated knowledge, in the relationships between practice, daily life, and theory.

Objectives
Objectives
O1. Develop observation as a requirement for understanding and interpreting reality and social problems; O2. Internalize procedures leading to the creation of an investigative attitude in Social Work, understanding that the profession's space and issues are themselves spaces and issues for investigation; O3. Develop a social and cultural sensitivity that allows for a differentiated view of social problems understood in their complexity; O4. Raise awareness of the importance of social research for the social intervention of social workers; O5. Develop the ability to observe contemporary social phenomena from the perspective of Social Work.

Teaching methodologies
The methodologies considered relevant and suitable will be adopted at each learning moment to contribute to its facilitation. The theoretical exploration of the topics defined for the curriculum unit is privileged, as well as the contact and interaction with Social Workers from different areas and intervention contexts.

Participação em sala No decorrer do semestre 20%2 1O trabalho individual incidirá sobre as temáticas abordadas pelos convidados em contexto de aula, bem como sobre as experiências e aprendizagens decorrentes das visitas de estudo realizadas no âmbito da unidade curricular. Pretende-se que os estudantes desenvolvam uma reflexão crítica e fundamentada, articulando os conteúdos teóricos com as práticas observadas.
Em alternativa à realização do trabalho individual, os estudantes poderão optar pela realização de um teste de avaliação, incidindo sobre os conteúdos programáticos lecionados.
2Regime especial de avaliação
«Estudante com estatuto especial» - "estudante que apresentou prova da condição que legal ou que regulamente lhe concede direitos particulares na presença em aulas ou prova, desde que tal esteja devidamente registado no seu processo junto dos serviços administrativos, seguindo as normas definidas para o efeito. Incluem-se neste estatuto os trabalhadores-estudantes, os dirigentes associativos, atletas de alta competição, atletas em representação da instituição no desporto universitário, atletas federados nos termos legais aplicáveis, membros de forças de segurança, militares, estudantes com necessidades educativas especiais e outros que a lei o preveja" (Artigo 3º/ Despacho Reitoral 24/2023).
No que diz respeito ao Regime Especial de Avaliação o mesmo Despacho (Artigo 6º, ponto 3 alínea b) a "Aplicação de elementos de avaliação distintos, que comprovem o sucesso do estudante "- Para os estudantes com este Regime poderá ser substituído por um trabalho individual a combinar e agendar com a docente
