The Curricular Unit Swimming Pedagogy of the 2nd cycle in Teaching of Physical Education in Basic and Secondary Education at UL aims at the development of competences and basic knowledge for the teaching of swimming, including adaptation to the aquatic environment, swimming techniques, starts and turns, and fundamental knowledge of the technical regulations of Swimming.

Objectives
It is intended that students who attend this UC: Learning objective (LO) LO1) Understand and apply the terminology and the national and international framework of competitive swimming. LO2) Understand and apply the methodological progressions related to aquatic adaptation. LO3) Understand and apply the methodological progressions for teaching the four techniques of competitive swimming.

Teaching methodologies
Different teaching methodologies (ME) will be used: Demonstration, experimentation and practical exercise (ME1) Pedagogical practices in a simulated situation of planning, organization and intervention within the scope of teaching/learning (ME2) Resolution of practical cases (ME3), Visioning and discussion documentaries/videos (ME4), Feedback provided by the teacher about the work carried out (ME5).

Assessment
Assessment
A avaliação é contínua e é levada a cabo nos termos do Regulamento Geral de Avaliação da Universidade Lusófona.
Diferentes instrumentos de avaliação serão utilizados: 1) provas escritas; 2) práticas pedagógicas; 3) dossier;
A classificação final é determinada arredondando às unidades o valor da média aritmética ponderada das classificações obtidas nos momentos de avaliação. Para a aprovação a classificação final terá que ser > ou = a 9.5 valores.
Os estudantes que não obtenham aprovação poderão submeter-se a exame na época de recurso. O exame de recurso incidirá sobre a totalidade dos CP.
