    The Dance Didactics I Course Unit is part of the 1st year of initial training in the 2and cycle of studies in Physical Education and sport, within the scientific area of Physical Education and Sport. In the classroom context and simulated pedagogical practice, it provides essential foundational and transversal skills for professional performance, with areas of focus and domains of intervention in knowledge, description, interpretation, application, and execution within the educational system, in the subject of Dance.

    CP1) Regulations for different dance styles, terminology, and technical performance models; CP2) Dance in an educational context: Benefits of dance (physical, emotional, social, creative, and cultural); technique and expression - PNEF; Planning and selecting content - Laboratory practice work and tutorial guidance. Organizational structure of a class: Methodological approach to dance teaching and learning. CP3) Through observation, analysis, and critical reflection, identify levels of quality in gymnastics teaching in a school environment. CP4) Presentation of proposals for classification/evaluation of different content in the different domains of the dance teaching and learning process in a real school context: methods and criteria.

    Objectives

    *  Understand basic notions, concepts, and specific terminology inherent to the dances included in the National Physical Education Programs, within the framework of the safety and integrity of dance practitioners; * Acquire choreographic creation skills (improvisation and composition), develop movement sequences, and apply knowledge related to the methodological progressions of dance teaching for the 2nd and 3rd cycles of primary and secondary education. * In a simulated and real teaching context at school, develop pedagogical-didactic knowledge, experiences, and skills for approaching dance, based on the structure of motor behavior in dance and movement analysis. * Acquire professional skills in reflection and pedagogical intervention that allow the use of dance as an educational subject in the context of physical education. Evaluate and analyze performance in teaching-learning situations.  
  • Teaching methodologies

    Teaching methodologies

    Different teaching methodologies (ME) will be used: Supervised pedagogical practice in a real context (ME1) Resolution of practical cases (ME2), Screening and discussion of ocumentaries/videos (ME3), Small group activities (ME4), Feedback information provided by the teacher about the work developed (ME5).. To take advantage of Continuous Assessment, the student must have 70% effective attendance in classes and submit a dossier on the dance didactic UC (compilation of all the work developed and requested in classes, which can be complemented with other material that is related to the UC and that the student considers its inclusion relevant).

    A avaliação é contínua e é levada a cabo nos termos do Regulamento Geral de Avaliação da Universidade Lusófona. Diferentes instrumentos de avaliação serão utilizados: 1) provas escritas; 2) provas de prática pedagógica simulada ou em contexto real; 3) observação e preenchimento de listas de verificação; 4) portfólio

    A classificação final é determinada arredondando às unidades o valor da média aritmética ponderada das classificações obtidas nos momentos de avaliação. Para a aprovação a classificação final terá que ser > ou = a 9.5 valores.

    Assessment is continuous and is carried out in accordance with the General Assessment Regulations of the Lusófona University. Different assessment instruments will be used: 1) written tests; 2) tests of simulated or real-world teaching practice; 3) observation and completion of checklists; 4) portfolio. The final grade is determined by rounding to the nearest unit the weighted arithmetic mean of the grades obtained at the assessment moments. To pass, the final grade must be > or = 9.5 points.
