Start May 14, 2026 | 08h00 End May 14, 2026 | 19h00

The Portuguese Society for Innovation in Microbiome and Probiotics (SPIMP) is organising its 3rd Scientific Meeting dedicated to the clinical impact of the microbiome on 14 May 2026, at the Agostinho da Silva Amphitheatre, at Lusófona University, in Lisbon.

Under the theme “Microbiome: Relationship with the Main Systemic Axes and Impact on Clinical Practice”, the meeting will bring together specialists from different healthcare fields for a rigorous, evidence-based scientific reflection on the role of the microbiome in major pathophysiological processes and clinical decision-making.

Current scientific evidence demonstrates that the integrity of the intestinal barrier, microbiota composition and microbial metabolites play a decisive role in inflammatory response, immune modulation, hormonal metabolism and reproductive outcomes. In this context, SPIMP proposes a programme designed to clarify what already constitutes evidence-based practice and to distinguish validated approaches from trends still under investigation.
