Conference Cycle Activity Plan 2025-2026 | 2nd Semester – Bachelor's Degree in Social Work

The 2nd semester of the Bachelor's Degree in Social Work offers a diverse set of theoretical and practical activities, designed to bring students closer to social realities and professional intervention contexts.

Throughout the semester, 1st-year students will participate in thematic practical classes and study visits exploring areas such as health, ageing, children and youth, domestic violence, families, and addictions. 2nd-year students will have the opportunity to learn about innovative community projects in social intervention territories, while 3rd-year students will attend open classes and seminars that deepen professional practices and intervention strategies with children, young people, and families in vulnerable situations.

Additionally, the celebration of World Social Work Day will bring together the entire academic community to reflect on the role of Social Work in promoting hope, harmony, and social cohesion.

• 1st Year - Course Unit: Social Work Observatory

  Thematic Practical Classes:

  • 19 March – HIV/AIDS and Drug Addiction/Addictions

  Study Visits:

  • 27 March – Aldeia de Santa Isabel – SCML, Sintra
  • April – Portuguese Street Football Association, Bairro Padre Cruz
  • April – Project “Grandma Came to Work”, Lisbon

  These activities provide students with practical exposure to the different areas of Social Work intervention, allowing them to observe real contexts and reflect on professional practices.

  Study Visit:

  • 24 April – Territories of the Programme “Our Neighbourhood – Our City”, Setúbal

  The visit aims to learn about community intervention projects, analysing strategies of action in diverse social contexts.
