Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
To construct a memory capable of encompassing the dynamic entirety of Malangatana’s legacy, the exhibition will feature works by the artist, by artists with whom he formed friendships, and by young Mozambican artists; memorabilia, documentary collections and popular art from southern Mozambique, where the artist was born; historical and rare bibliographic works documenting the social, cultural and political contexts in which he actively participated; and, finally, a documentary on Malangatana’s life and work, presented on a loop.
The opening will include contributions from family members, friends and scholars of Malangatana, as well as from the curators. The exhibition will be open to the public until May 23, from Wednesday to Saturday, between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
