“Rita Lino is a Portuguese visual artist who lives and works in Berlin. She began shaping her own path in photography by exploring it freely, without any preconceived ideas about the construction of the still image.

Focusing primarily on her personal work, the photographer has been developing and materialising it through multiple photographic series, as visual exercises that explore a natural obsession with the self and persona — an ongoing work-in-progress that uses the body as a primary material to be recreated and exorcised.

Lino describes her photography as animalistic, instinctive, intimate, narcissistic, open to a thousand possible interpretations, a spiritual space, a self-sustained rehabilitation shaped by brutal transparency.

She has developed her personal series, projects and exhibitions alongside collaborations with various international initiatives, artistic residencies and magazines, contributing with her own work or creating exclusive photographic and editorial series. She has published four photography books under her own name, with internationally recognised and acclaimed publishers.”
