The initiative arises from a partnership with the European Anti-Poverty Network to promote social inclusion, combat poverty, and integration policie
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
As part of the Interculturality Week 2026, the initiative Integration of Immigrants: Challenges and Potential of Local Support Centres for the Integration of Migrants will take place.
The event aims to promote a critical reflection on the challenges faced by immigrants in Portugal, as well as to analyse the strategic role of the Local Support Centres for the Integration of Migrants (CLAIM) as key local structures in intercultural mediation, access to rights, and the promotion of social cohesion.
The potential of these structures will be discussed in terms of strengthening support networks, fostering interinstitutional coordination, and developing more inclusive and culturally competent responses.
This initiative provides a space for dialogue between academia, field professionals, and civil society organisations, contributing to a deeper understanding of integration dynamics and public policies in this area.
