Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre will host the NECS Conference 2025, one of the most prestigious events in the field of Film and Media Arts, from June 18 to 21, 2025. Bringing together academics, researchers, and professionals from around the world, this international conference invites participants to explore the interconnected themes of Navigation, Discovery, and Journey in the context of audiovisual media.
Focusing on cinema, television, digital media, and immersive technologies, the conference promotes dialogue on how these themes shape, and are shaped by, visual narratives and media experiences. Over the course of four days, topics ranging from classical film narratives to emerging technologies such as virtual reality and interactive storytelling will be discussed.
Call for Papers: Discovering/Uncovering. Navigating the Complexities of Screen Media
Interested researchers may submit proposals by 31 January 2025 through a submission form that will be available shortly on the event's official website. Proposals should address relevant issues regarding the historical and contemporary dimensions of film and media, with a focus on transnational and post-colonial perspectives.
