Pedro Cabrita Reis (b. 1956, Lisboa) is an artist whose presence and work have been fundamental to the international art scene since the mid-1980s. Recognised for his significant contribution to the understanding of contemporary sculpture, he lives and works in his native city of Lisboa.

His extensive body of work, multifaceted and complex, stands out for a unique philosophical and poetic discourse, incorporating a wide range of artistic media such as painting, sculpture, photography, drawing and installations composed of industrial materials, found objects and manufactured elements.

Through constructive processes applied to simple materials, the artist transforms traces of everyday life into reflections on the human condition. His practice is articulated between the conceptual and the material, privileging ambiguity and questioning as fundamental principles.

Throughout his career, he has taken part in internationally renowned exhibitions, including Documenta IX and XIV in Kassel (1992, 2017), the 21st and 24th São Paulo Biennials (1994, 1998) and Aperto at the Venice Biennale (1997). He represented Portugal at the Venice Biennale in 2003 and presented A Remote Whisper at the 55th Venice Biennale (2013), also participating in the Xème Biennale de Lyon (2009).

In 2022, he presented Les Trois Grâces at the Tuileries, commissioned by the Musée du Louvre, and on the occasion of the 59th Venice Biennale, he presented Campo at the Chiesa di San Fantin. In 2024, Atelier, a retrospective exhibition featuring more than 1,500 works from his 50-year career, was presented.
