Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) ODS17

Start March 19, 2026 | 19h00 End March 19, 2026 | 21h00

The Cinema Fernando Lopes will host, in the coming weeks, two special sessions that will feature the presence and intervention of Professor José Bragança de Miranda.

Sessions

  • Mr Nobody contra Putin (Nominated for the Oscar for Best Documentary) | 5 March, 21h30
  • ORWELL 2+2=5 | 19 March, 19h00

Both films are documentaries that converge in a critical reflection on the contemporary mechanisms of truth construction and information manipulation. While Mr Nobody against Putin places us before the political instrumentalisation of the media narrative in a context of conflict and authoritarianism, ORWELL 2+2=5 revisits George Orwell's thought to problematise the current relevance of his intuitions on propaganda, surveillance and language distortion.

In common, the two works interrogate the power devices that shape public perception, the social impact of disinformation and the fragility of democracies in the face of sophisticated control strategies.
