The Lusófona Centre on Global Challenges (LusoGlobe) will hold an international seminar on 27 April 2026, at 4:00 pm, featuring Odilon Caldeira Neto, Professor at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Brazil) and a researcher funded by CNPq.

Entitled “The Radical Right in Brazil: Past and Present”, the seminar will analyse the dynamics of right-wing radicalisation in Brazil, addressing both historical and contemporary dimensions, with a focus on the intersections between neofascism, political extremism and institutional politics.

Odilon Caldeira Neto is an international reference in the study of the far right and the author of Neofascism and the Far Right in Brazil (Cambridge University Press, 2025). His research focuses on the memory of fascism, radical right movements and contemporary forms of political extremism.
