Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
A teaching methodology focused on technical knowledge of the signal and its manipulation, without neglecting artistic expression. Innovative methodologies include the use of various AI-based tools, such as the creation of smart bins, text transcription, scene cut detection, watch folders, and colour correction within a 'future-proof' framework where the signal is preserved in its fullest range and exported to TV, cinema, social media and any new protocols that may emerge in the future. The classes have a strong practical component, teaching students how to use the colour grading tools in DaVinci Resolve. The final mark is based on practical exercises set throughout the semester: Shot matching, Setting up a timeline and preparing for colour grading, Colour grading a video or short film, Exporting to various formats (DCP), Digital Master (HQ), and low resolution for sharing on social media, Group project with a final presentation
