Syllabus
Fundamentals of digital imaging; basic concepts and practices. The different types of digital files; specificities and common uses; when and how to use them; advantages and disadvantages. Introduction to Adobe Lightroom software: A tool for processing and managing digital image archives. Importing, processing, organizing, and classifying images. Introduction to Adobe Photoshop software: Non-destructive image editing; Adjustment Layers and Masks.

Objectives
Objectives
Students will learn to optimize workflows with the end goal in mind, whether print or web. They will acquire the skills to perform a diverse set of tasks inherent to the digital photography process. They will learn how to interpret the histogram, adjust contrast, color, and brightness, retouch images with the various available commands, use layers, and prepare images for print and/or web. They will streamline their entire workflow and learn best practices for viewing and categorizing various file types.
