Class History of Art and Visual Culture III

This curricular unit is the third of five units dedicated to the study of art and visual culture over time that are part of the degree in Visual Arts. In this uc we focus on art from Baroque to 19th art.

1- The 18th century, the Baroque and the transition to Rococo. 2- The 19th century: Neoclassicism, Romanticism and Naturalism. The revivalisms. 

Interactive classes, based on a dynamic group relationship. The projection of images of works of art from the artistic periods under study, with a focus on In the Portuguese case, reading texts and watching short films will be the starting point for joint analysis and debate. With a view to enhancing the dialog, the various themes are presented in advance. Continuous assessment will be based on an individual project to be carried out throughout the semester with on going presentation of the results of research and observation (50%), presentation of the project at the end od the semestre (10%) and two tests (40%).
