This CU aims to establish an area of integrated development of knowledge within the Cosmetic Science field. With a marked multidisciplinary character, this CU aims to deepen the concepts that are the base of the development of safe and effective cosmetic formultions, which is the foundation of the modern Cosmetology. The intimate relationship that is established with some areas of drug delivery make this CU essential to the development of pharmaceutics.

Objectives
Objectives
This CU covers knowledge from different areas, from the basic sciences to the Galenic pharmacy and dermatology. Deepening many of the aspects that are covered in other domains, the CU aims to encompass both the protective and the decorative Cosmetic in its most representative market segments (esthetic/ perfumes, and parapharmacy) focusing the formulation challenges, the presentation, the marketing and the use of cosmetic products. After frequence of this CU, the student will have acquired the following competences: knowledge of the regulatory frame of cosmetic products correct interpretation of the labelling of cosmetic products identification of the functions of the main components of a cosmetic formulation interpretation of cosmetic claims recognize the quality of a formulation develop different kinds of cosmetic formulations

Teaching methodologies
Flipped classrooms, where traditional lectures are replaced with interactive online content and in-person discussions, foster active learning and deeper understanding. Project-based learning allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Serious games in knowledge assessment.
