Climate change science. Chemistry of climate change: important GHG cycles Risks associated with climate change. Impacts, evidence and consequences Climate change mitigation strategies. The decarbonization of the economy. The carbon market. Adaptation strategies to climate change. Role of nature-based solutions Sociology of the environment and communication in the successful implementation of decarbonization strategies Economy, regulation and markets. Financing adaptation measures Decarbonisation strategies National and international case studies.

Objectives
Acquire, develop and consolidate knowledge in the area of climate change and decarbonization strategies. It is intended that students understand the fundamental concepts and relationships of climate change science, economic and environmental sustainability in the use of natural resources and mitigation and adaptation strategies that make society more resilient to the impacts of climate change. The acquisition and progressive mastery of the concepts and methodologies that underlie the economic valuation of environmental goods and the idea of sustainable development, as well as the analysis of environmental policies and the cost / benefit analysis of environmental programs and projects will be evaluated during the half.
