This Curricular Unit aims to provide students with applied knowledge concerning the basic principles of public health promotion (i.e. holistic conception, intersectoriality, empowerment, social participation, equity, multi-strategic actions, sustainability). To this end, fundamental terminology will be worked out and students' literacy will be increased, not only with regard to key elements of current health policies, but also concerning the international and national organization of health systems. The fundamental role of physical activity as a fundamental determinant of health (with synergistic effects on other determinants) will also be underlined.
