This CU is part of the 2nd cycle in Exercise and Health, in the area of Physical Education and Sport. It aims to provide updated knowledge regarding the main issues of Physiology applied to exercise / physical activity. It is intended that students know the physiological, functional and organic alterations resulting from the practice of different types of exercise / physical activity. This knowledge is decisive for the competent performance in exercise prescription and orientation, to devise training programs, physiologically based, for the improvement of the physical and physiological performance, and in the primary or secondary prevention of pathologies in which the lack of physical activity / exercise it is one of the risk factors.

Objectives
Objectives
The learning objectives (LO) of this CU are: 1) Understanding the relationship between physical activity, physical inactivity, sedentary lifestyle and health; 2) Understanding the biochemical concepts underlying the different energy production pathways and relating them to the different types of exercise/physical activity; 3) Acquisition of skills in interpreting physiological, functional and organic changes resulting from the practice of different types of exercise and physical activity; 4) Acquisition and interpretation of knowledge about the healthy functioning of the main organs and systems and the body's acute and chronic adaptations to exercise.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Different teaching methodologies (ME) will be used: Expository classes (ME1): Resolution of practical cases (ME2), Viewing and discussion of documentaries/videos (ME3), Bibliographic research (ME4), Analysis of scientific papers (ME5) , Small group activities (ME6), Feedback provided by the professor about the work carried out (ME7).
